New Traditions
2012

The extraordinary voices of Surahata Susso, Jeremy Avis, Rebecca Askew and Davide Mantovani join together once more for their new programme of stunningly original treatments of traditional songs from Europe, the USA and the Gambia.

Their lush harmonies are accompanied by the West African kora, two acoustic guitars and stunning double bass playing and a jazz/folk feel.

Their New Traditions programme draws songlines across three continents and several centuries, all underpinned by Korasong Radio's signature lilting grooves.

Here you will find age-old songs and stories of rescued love, dark magic, exotic travel and heartening heroism......is it Dakar, is it Havanna, is it the Hebrides or even Essex ? To find out you'll just have to board the train!

Come and see us at The Forge in Camden on June 8th as part of the Global Sounds festival!
